University of Liverpool Japanese Students Group - Tsunami Appeal

This poster, adapted from an earlier version, which the University of Liverpool  

Japanese Students Group will be distributing over the next few weeks, is intended

to raise the public's awareness of the continuing plight of the survivors and victims 

of the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, which occurred in Japan on 11 March 2011.

Hilbre Island Through A Pinhole

Taken with a ZeroImage pinhole camera on Hilbre Island at high tide in March of this year.
The 100 ASA film had three seconds exposure.

Another Camera

Taken with a Nikkormat 35mm camera with a 55mm lens, from exactly the same position

as the previous pinhole image. Exposure: 1/125 sec.

A Turning

Within my camera's field of vision there were several men digging for lug and ragworms; all of them in slow retreat from the rising water's edge. I made this pinhole photograph far out from Formby beach. The photographic paper required several minutes exposure. A K2 filter was used.

Delamere

Yesterday I watched the film 'Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring' by the Korean actor/director Kim Ki-duk. Some scenes in this remarkable movie reminded me of this photograph that I made in January 2011 at Blakemere Moss, Delamere Forest, in Cheshire.
